As a caregiver with JCREmeds, I have had the privilege of serving newborns and their families during their most vulnerable moments. One particular experience that stays with me is the story of a premature baby who fought against all odds. Born with intestinal blockages, this tiny warrior underwent three surgeries and was discharged with a G-tube due to feeding difficulties. The parents were new to this journey, and I was tasked with caring for their baby around the clock. The baby’s condition was fragile, with a perineal abscess causing immense discomfort. I poured my heart into caring for this little one, and the family’s kindness and trust meant everything. As days turned into weeks, I found myself invested in the baby’s progress, often thinking about them long after my service period ended. Then, one day, the mother messaged me with incredible news: the G-tube had been removed, the baby was thriving, and weighed 7 kg! She expressed her gratitude for my dedication, saying I had helped her baby recover and grow strong. Reading those words filled me with joy and a sense of purpose. I asked for a photo, and seeing the baby’s smiling face brought tears of happiness. I replied to the mother, “Your words mean a lot to me. I am thrilled to see her healthy and strong. I will always remember the trust you placed in me.”

Working with JCREmeds has given me the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of families like this one. I have learned that it is not just about providing care; it is about building trust, offering comfort, and being a part of their journey.
